These two — keywords and meta text — have always been cited as secret weapons that can catapult a story to the top of search engine results.
Thankfully, for writers, the struggle is over. They can now turn to Gen AI to find keywords and write meta text.
All that they need to do is craft a suitable prompt.
The prompt that I use
If you don’t have a prompt, you can use this one I’ve crafted with ChatGPT’s help.
Prompt:
Please analyse the following text and perform the following tasks:
- Extract 10–15 relevant **SEO keywords**, including both short-tail and long-tail phrases. These should reflect the content’s central themes, emotional tone, and likely search intent.
- Write a **meta description** under 160 characters that is engaging, keyword-rich, and suitable for blog or article publishing.
Using this prompt, I submitted the text below:
Text: [Rama Devi, 75, struggles to express herself clearly.
She was brought to the Friendly Old Age Home in Pune from Badalpur by her son.
She has three sons and is quick to assert, “Main laawaris nahi hoon” (I am not homeless). Then, with a gut-wrenching smile, she adds, “Yeh poora samaaj mera hai” (The whole society is mine).
During conversations, she often drifts away, zoning out for long stretches.
When asked whether her family interacts with her regularly, she insists that they speak to her every day. However, her tone and mannerisms suggest otherwise.
She laughs frequently and without apparent reason — an unsettling kind of laughter that raises more questions than answers. Something she said during the conversation, both humorous and heartbreaking, lingered in the minds of those present. However, it was hard to tell if she meant it as a joke or a cry for help.
When asked about basic facilities such as sanitation, food, and water, she stated that the sanitation was good, but didn’t say much beyond that. What she truly misses is home-cooked food.
Staying at the old age home is not her choice — it is a compulsion. She does not want to live in the ashram. She wants to go home. Her son does take her to the doctor when needed.
According to the caretaker, healthcare at the home is reliable, with doctors available for house calls after a phone request.
Still, Rama Devi seems resigned to her circumstances. Nahi milega kuch bhi. Yeh ek ashram hai, she says quietly. (We won’t get anything else here. This is just an old age home.) ]
