5 ways to make money from your blog

blogWho does not want to earn extra money? Especially, if you have worked hard to create a blog. Here are five ways to make your blog generate money:

# 1. Google ad sense
The easiest way to make money is to sign in for a Google Ad Sense account. The Google team checks your content, and if it is satisfied then you are allowed to run Google Ad Sense ads. You earn money for every ad that gets clicked on your site. The day your earnings touch the 100-dollar mark Google mails you a cheque. If the monthly earnings swell to $100 every month then you get a cheque every month.

#2. Affiliate marketing
The online retail giant Amazon.com introduced affiliate marketing in the late nineties. Since then a small industry has cropped up around affiliate sales. The industry works on a simple principle: every referral from your website that leads to a sale is rewarded. The reward can range from 5 to 50% of the product cost. There is no fee to be paid to become an affiliate. All that you need to do is to display the affiliate button; the embedded affiliate code will keep track of all sales that result from referrals from your blog.

#3. E-books
Convert your blog postings into an e-book, and put it up for sale on your website. This will involve some effort. You will have to cut and chop, and write fresh content to make the e-book relevant. But once you do so, you will create a minor revenue stream.

#4. E-courses
Can you create an e-course that students will be willing to join? For instance, if you a are a web designer then you can create a beginner’s course on web design. If you have been blogging on media subjects then you can create a course on reporting, editing or headline writing. Don’t price your course too high. See the response, and then decide how much you can charge.

#5. Advertising
You can contact an advertising agency, and share your blog traffic and user base. Look for a small ad agency. The large ones may find your blog too small to represent. Every ad that goes up on your blog means money.
