What is the best time to blog

blogThe Internet traffic is like the ocean swell. You can crest the blog wave if you catch it at the right moment or you may flail your arms helplessly watching waves go past you.

This is why the best bloggers time their posts. They don’t burn their posts by publishing them at the wrong time or on the wrong day.

The worst day to publish your blogpost is Sunday; slightly less worse is Saturday. The Internet traffic crashes by one-third on weekends.

So, make it a point not to publish your killer posts on the weekends.

Festivals and national holidays also witness huge drops in traffic. This is particularly true of India, where a large number of people surf from their offices.

Monday is the best day to post. You will find that your Monday traffic is always the best, largely because people miss the net during the weekends, and want to catch up. The traffic peak starts shrinking with every passing weekday, with traffic dropping alarmingly on weekends.

You should also keep your audience interests in mind while posting fresh content. If your blog is targeted at a mature, politically savvy audience then the best time to post is in the morning by 11 a.m. A large number of office goers surf from their offices, especially during breaks.

The students have very little access to the net during college hours. They surf mostly in the evening or later in the night. So, if your blog is targeted at school kids or college youth then you should try and put up a fresh post by 3 p.m.

Blogs targeting housewives should be posted by 11 a.m. because most housewives turn to the net in the afternoon. They have no time to browse in the morning when the family is getting ready to leave for college or work; their hands are similarly full in the evening. The best time to catch them is in the afternoon.

Plan your postings accordingly. Please remember that blogs posted on the wrong day or at the wrong time are likely to be missed.
